Description:
This logo was created for a jewelry maker who designs vintage ‘20s-‘30s era pieces. The artists favorite Hollywood star, and the inspiration for her work, is Louise Brooks.
Mary Louise Brooks, also known by her childhood name of “Brooksie”, became famous for her bobbed hair style which thousands of women adopted as their own. She was no doubt a trend setter of her time.
In creating this logo the concept was clear, take the most recognizable and iconic image that represented Louise Brooks, her hair style, and incorporate it into a logo with an Art Deco typeface that represents the golden age of cinema that she helped make famous.
I was able to cross generations of style and make the logo fitting for todays fashion culture with a simple illustration of the her signature hair style that carries through to hair cuts of today.

ReplyI know this is going to seem like a silly question, but I can't seem to get my avatar uploaded and viewable. Seeing that I'm new to this site I thought someone might have a hint or two for me. I can't find a FAQ or support page anywhere. Thanks...

ReplyThis is awesome. the break in the bangs is perfect - great composition.
ReplyThanks AMP, I'm a bit of a minimalist and like take the %22less-is-more%22 approach. This is among my favorites. Simple clean and you're right, a soft break in the hair speaks volumes...
