Description:
As a world leader in engineering and science education and research, MIT attracts a diverse and technically superb student population. Within the MIT+K12 model, students generated short-form videos to complement the existing curriculum taught to kindergardeners though high school seniors. It’s an innovative education strategy that is catching on. Developing a logo that is unique and concise is a daunting challenge; including a secondary logo with such a visually strong and established logotype like MIT’s is yet another. The direction of the identity was loosely inspired by the iconic children’s mechanical drawing toy (name intentionally omitted) which is referenced in each of the video’s opening segments. The mark is structurally sound while remaining open ended, much like a child’s educational experience.
