I instantly thought of a Christian volleyball team, too. Bojan, you're right, but the connection is very weak today. Maybe the panels could be tweaked a bit to look more irregular. Check out the Barcelona crest for a reference.
the shape of the ball is iconic,so they were before the balls of soccer, most of the teams in Spain use one well in their logos, including the best team: Barcelona
My real issue, as with many logos for Christian organizations, is the reliance of the "cross" element. Although I will say it is very well implemented, it seems to be overdone.
I saw a football straight away but maybe because I am British? Not much Volleyball played here! I am wondering if you need the outer shape as it seems like a distraction.

Nice idea...
ReplyGood stuff
ReplyNice but this is a volleyball and not a ball for soccer.
ReplyIt depends... once they were like this if I recall

ReplyJust noticed this is now a soccer team and not volleyball anymore due to the comments above? Is it a real team?
ReplyMe too - I thought of a football team straight away. Old-school footballs were really like this one so I think there's no issue there.
ReplyGood job!
