Description:
Libertad is a Uruguayan city of the department of San Jose.
its name is inspired by the wishes of the first settlers in the area, many of whom were French immigrants from Alsace and Lorraine fleeing the invasion of their territories by the German Empire (during the Franco -Prussian War) and came in seeking freedom .
