Do people clearly see where I'm going with this one. think I'll leave it for tomorrow anyway...
ReplyLooks like %22Grab a gift%22 to me. :)
Replyi think maybe its a little too vague since it it has a bit of 'giving a gift' and 'catching a diploma' feel at the same time (although the second option i only got from having 'graduate' in the title).**if you're going for the second option you may want to look at adding some form of 'paper roll' effect to the top of the scroll.**Sideways it kinda looks like the hamburglar :)
Reply%5E i agree with cobaltcow, i think the rolled paper at the top and rounded bottom would give it more of a feel of the diploma. IMO
ReplyI think it'd be cool if the string tie looked like a %22G%22 just for another meaning. It'd be subtle, and cool'n'stuff.
ReplyThanks for the comments fellas, I quite like the concept and i'm going to change it about to make it cleaner. Not a fan of the sketchy look
Replyupdated.**Let me know your thoughts :)
ReplyI think it's the closest one to the message of the brand name: shaking hands (symbol of business) with the diploma in the hand (graduation - competence), nice touch for the color balance as well, I like it Euan! Yah nailed it!
ReplyFor me, as soon as I see the knot/tie on the diploma, I think of the original UPS logo which automatically is associated with packages (for me anyways). I'm wondering if anyone else is getting that same association. This new version is better, but still not quite there. Trying out Nathan's (cobaltcow) idea with the paper roll effect could help. With all that said, a lot of people will still probably understand the concept since you have the accompanying type, but when the mark is used as a standalone, you're going to have some trouble. It may not read quick enough. As I'm writing this, I had an idea. Could you use a graduation cap as a light shade with the light bulb peaking out at the base and the tassel could be the pull cord on a lamp? Does that make sense? Just an idea if this one ends up not working out.
ReplyThanks guys, I agree it's not quite there. I want it to have an instant impact, as always.**Thanks for the help, Kev. I'm going to try Nathan's idea, although I need to find a way to do that without it giving off a 3d look, if you know what i mean? That's a good idea, man, I'll try that out. Cheers buddy :)
ReplyUpdated.**better?**Thanks a lot again, Kev, I worked on that concept and it looks good :)
