I really like this design, however... as for the colours, I am not liking the gradient, as I have a very strong feeling it is one of the default (radial) ones in illustrator. But other than that, really nice work IMO :D
Best design in your showcase so far. I don't know why I passed it by before. As a designer for a very specific industry, it must be hard coming up with new design treatments for essentially the same subject over and over. You're doing a spectacular job.
Word of advice fellow designers, make sure you are present when the signage company are putting up the signage. Had an unpleasant suprise when I got to work today. AARGH!!!!!!!!!!%0D*%0D*
did they change the font? install it upside down? space the elements wrongly???? Seriously you have to watch signage people every step of the way...like vultures they pull apart your work and then even have the guts to regurgitate you a proof of your logo with a brand new font!%0D*%0D*Okay that was a generalisation but i have too many bad experiences!
They put the horse on a frosted white background (not black) in several areas around the building...but I have since complained and they are reprinting the strips. It's such a stress when you get anyone to print something generally, but signage companies can really take the law into their own hands sometimes.
Lost a job once because I believed what a print rep told me. Promised she could deliver but her company could not. It was a nightmare. It was a huge project and a lot went right and I was able to solve one problem no one thought could be solved, but all it takes is one dropped ball. No matter how much you trust your vendors, you should always keep on top of every thing. Like you learn everything you can about your client's businesses, you have to know your vendor's business, too.
Great to see some trotter related stuff in your gallery. It ain't easy to create a unique trotter logo. I know because I made some a long time ago.**Love it.
Saw this on the Highway when I was passing through Melton on the weekend, still looks great!! ...and, it managed to distract from the fact that I was in Melton %3B)
Thanks Gert %26 Josh, I appreciate your comments, and agree that it is hard to do Harness logos, because of the lack of symetry with the sulky on the back, so u have to mix it up for sure. Josh that cracked me up :)
Lets Discuss
nice use of colour - however i feel that the image and text are not balanced (maybe a little bottom-heavy).
ReplyThanks for that, I appreciate any constructive feedback with a dash of positive feedback.
