I have to say you do some amazing work. I think you could Improve by doing the same work by simplifying some of the detail.?

Logomotive, I can definitely see that. My logo work always borders between logo and illustration, which I suppose is classified as an illustrative logo. I find that while it doesn't compete with the modern standard of logo design, it can definitely get overly detailed. I'm working on simplifying certain aspects with each new project, but it might be one of those things that I just need to refine over time. :)

Keep the illustrative style alive Jess. You really have some talent! Mike is also right, skills can always be developed and refined. It will be interesting to see how your work compares in the future.

Thanks Rich! I'll definitely continue in this direction; I find that the illustrative style attracts some really unique and interesting clients, and I'm not really of the mindset to work with huge corporate clients. That said, I do want to become a more 'complete' designer, and one of my goals for the year is to diversify and explore other waters more seriously including minimalism. I think a balance of other styles could contribute to a more polished version of my own. I hope as long as I continue to learn and refine, I'll eventually get to a place where I'm truly happy with every piece I put out.

Does that ever happen? Hahah.
