Originally from the UK, Graphic Design was always a hobby for me. I was in the Royal Marines for over 10 years and in my time off I would brush-up on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, MAXON, And various other applications.
Now I am a civilian and am starting up a GD company in Ireland. The design market is very different over here compared to the UK and is more geared to clients who just want to know up front what they are paying and are just interested in saving money - but still have a good, solid design.
Most of my designs that are done of a more 'premium' standard are for clients in the UK and the USA...Gotta love the power and flexibility of working from home and the use of the internet : )
