ReplyHey Jan, thanks for your comments, those second set of eyes are always needed.
ReplyIs this based on a font? If so, what is the name?
ReplyNo, sorry, I actually drew it, scanned it and retraced it in illustrator. If you are looking for something similar, have you tried %22Diana%22?
ReplyThank you Sebastiany.
ReplyLove the type Rudy - so elegant.
ReplyThank you Chris, long time no see, I'm working on that thing we spoke about, I'll be in touch soon.
ReplyVery very nice :)
ReplyBeautiful.
ReplySmooooth, Rudy. Love it :D
ReplyVery nicely drawn, dude. I like that it retains a nice hand drawn look about it without being too sloppy. Congrats!
ReplyThank you Kevin, Josiah and JF, you are so kind.
ReplyThanks Nima, I'm not sure, I did it for a wine label. I heard Sirah is the grape they use to make the wine but the name evolved when they brought the grape to Australia and called it Shiraz, maybe someone in LP will know :)
ReplyHi... nice work rudy... well done**as far as the city in Iran goes here's an extract from wikipedia (I know... wikipedia right... )**__%22Shiraz is known as the city of poets, wine and flowers. It is also considered by many Iranians to be the city of gardens, due to the many gardens and fruit trees that can be seen in the city.%22__**...the name is also commonly used as an Islamic name for boys and means __%22sweet%22__... **although I do like what you have done I find it oddly strange that an %22Islamic%22 name would be used for a wine label... kinda like calling a pork manufacturer %22Moses%22...
ReplyShiraz is a variety of red wine also known as Syrah from a dark-skinned grape grown throughout the world. It is nomenclature in the same vein as pinot noir, merlot, cabernet, etc etc. Very common here in the states but perhaps not so much in other places?**
Reply...had a bottle of very nice one this weekend... Yep, very common...
Replyoh... %26 Shiraz is a mate of mine too... he don't drink but often looks like he's had too much... way too much...
ReplyThanks for all the lectures guys, there you have it! it is a place in Iran and it is a type of wine... sweet!! :)
ReplyHe he. Australian Shiraz (or Syrah) is particularly pleasant wine - didn't know about the Iran connection... still think it's an elegant mark either way.
ReplyAlways quality stuff from you, Rudy.
ReplyChris (C7) and Mads you guys are so kind.
Replyinspirational! reminds me to do one of these free flowing brand someday soon :)
ReplyNice.. did it take long to get right by hand?
ReplyGreat calligraphy! So match expression!
Reply@JohnM: thanks man, just remember that the problem dictates the solution, I needed something like this for the wine label as well as a mark to get the feeling I wanted to achieve, if you want to do something like this, don't forget the what problem is though :)**@gold coast website design: the drawing was quick, I still had to scan and trace in illustrator to make it vector art, and it takes time to make it smooth though, thanks for the question.**@Petro: thanks for the comment :)
Replynice work rudy:-)
