Description: Logo design for the Greek Guide Dogs which was awarded with the Second Prize in the category of Young Creatives at the Greek Graphic Design & Illustration Awards 2014. the brief The purpose of the competition is for the organization to obtain -primarily through the logo- an identifiable and distinct corporate identity, in order to use it as a comunity-awareness tool and a means οf the organization's actions communication. the solution Τhe logo depicts a car steering wheel in combination with a dog snout. This scheme refers to the Greek Guide Dogs organization. On one hand it symbolizes the blind person's functional guidance whilst on the other hand it reflects the dog's tenderness through the combined forms. The symbol is designed plainly, to be easily recognized both visually and through touch at a repousse adjustment. The typography is carefully chosen to be harmonically combined with the symbol, without overshadowing it. At the same time, it inspires confidence and trust through a modern approach. The use of current case and font without serifs adds to this result. Conclusively, the logo color is inspired by the color of the dog's nose, its main receptor which is determinant to its common path with the blind person.
