Description:
In 1992, City of Xiamen, China needed to upgrade its phone # from 6 digits to 7 digits, by adding "0" after the 1st digit. To promote the event, the city's Post and Telecom Bureau held a city-wide logo design competition. This was the winning logo and was used for the promotion.
I designed the logo by incorporating "6" and "7" into a phone handset (with cord) to signify the transition, also seen is "0" being inserted after 1st digit. Both colors were from the logo of then China Post and Telecom (of which the city's Post and Telecom Bureau was a branch).
