it's a pretty cool concept, how come you didn't go with a more natural continent formation, i.e. Africa almost touching Greenland or Australia's east coast pointing south, seems kind of odd? you could still get a nice tree form with a more correct continent layout.
Thanks for the comments.**gyui: I hear you! We had originally played with the idea of the continents making up the numeral %221%22. That looked too crazy. We then conceptualised growth and earth as part of the brief. When we put the the map over the tree vector without distortion, it looked too obvious - as in, it looked like a map with some sort of fungus growth underneath (smiles). The formation of the tree in my head was always like you see on the plains of Africa, so decided to manipulate the map as per final to client.
i guess since it's final there's really no need to debate, i just thought you could have a happy compromise by repositioning the continents to fit your vision as well as make it closer to their actual placement. because i originally thought it was a map of when the dinosaurs existed, how africa separated from s. america. either way, glad the client liked it, congrats manamedia :)
