Longshot is a term used in the film industry to describe a shot that is filmed from a distance.
The mark holds several meanings depending on your perspective. The moon, which doubles as a film reel given the location of five primary craters, invokes a sense of distance. The young boy holding a slingshot in one hand and a stone in the other intends a "long shot" at the moon. One could argue the likelihood of his success is in and of itself, a "longshot".
However, in my eyes it represents a time in all of our lives when we believed anything was possible. A time of great wonder, imagination and unyielding curiosity.
