I like how the black%26white swirly trimmings evoke some of the same swirliness of the hair. Though I'd suggest trimming off the orange bits because they seem a bit superfluous (esp. if one is trying to evaluate a logo for its sort of %22fundamental mechanics%22. So maybe taking the gray radials off would be best for these purposes.)**Once the orange is off, you might try widening the scroll and move the letters a little further away from the face. Then I'd suggest making the lettering solid white to increase readability.**Regards,*met%26aelig%3Bducation
Update! :) I enlisted the help of someone more Photoshop-capable than me to play around with the ideas I had... and we came up with a simplified version!%0D*%0D*%3Ca href%3D%22http://metaeducation.com/logopond/Yer-Mom2_2.png%22%3EYer-Mom2_2.png%3C/a%3E%0D*%0D*We went a little farther, trimming back some of the curls and also straightening the head more vertically (so it allowed for more even typography). It really helps to build up the character and complement the face, because she's pretty!%0D*%0D*Plus, we looked at how the shoulder might be exposed and let the black/white curls serve as a kind of %22outfit%22 for the character. My idea about making the letters white really didn't seem to pan out, so maybe that was a bad suggestion...oops. Still, I really think that cutting back the decoration such that it doesn't get any %22bigger%22 than the character and the type helps refocus the logo!%0D*%0D*Regards,%0D*met%26aelig%3Bducation
