I think the mark has potential, but not sure what the significance is with the background image, it looks messy and is distracting. I'd refine the mark and find a more unique font to compliment it.

I agree that this could be cleaned up a bit. Being a musician of sorts, I do get how it is all significant - or at least how all the parts relate to each other. But not sure if that says 'italian restaurant' though...
