yeah, this is really nice. I'm not sure i dig the notches in the Rs, and I feel like the points on the A and N need to extend into actual points to mimic the mountain (check neutraface titling). The sky could maybe be a touch less saturated? All that being said, this is a killer mark

Thanks all. Updates

I am finishing two mountain-themed logos at the moment and this one is a pure beauty buddy!

Mikeymike said on Jun. 27 '11

rock solid, my friend. This is great.

Great logo, jerron.

lumavine said on Jun. 27 '11

Very nice aesthetically, but I am not sure I get the concept. Maybe monograms and mountains are so done to death that I am just not picking up on the obvious. I would be curious to know what the brief dictated. Lovely work anyhow!

designtofeel said on Jun. 27 '11

Luma, it looks to me like he's playing off Mount Rainier (Alaska, right?). R for Rainier Mountain. It's one of those logos whose value is based more on awesome form and less on brilliant concept, which is perfectly acceptable and, in this case, yields a great result.

Nice one Jerron :)

nathantrafford said on Jun. 27 '11

neato! play with the kerning a little (last R is stickin out a touch) and this is a beaut!

Excellent. Nice one again, Jer!

You are so on top of your game bro!

jerron said on Jun. 27 '11

Thanks, the client wanted a separate icon with reference to Mt. Rainier in Washington.

I like. Timeless and iconic.

logoboom said on Jun. 28 '11

And I disagree with the comment that the sky should be less saturated. I actually think the sky should be darker. Same saturation although diff color as the mountain. To me this makes it stronger because you clearly see the R first and then the hidden mountain.

Simon™ said on Jun. 28 '11

Getting to even greater heights with this one. :-)

atpc said on Jun. 28 '11

Big fan of this mark. Great colors. Simple and clever.

nathantrafford said on Jun. 29 '11

@logoboom, same thinking as far as wanting to see the 'R' first, and you're probably right about keeping the saturation and just going darker instead of less saturated and darker. Have you seen the skies up there? Such a rich, beautiful blue. Someday i'll have my own shop in the mountains somewhere! ....sigh....now back to the 100 degree weather here in austin..

Rokac said on Jun. 29 '11

"R" logos, well, you gotta love them:)
Excellent work Jerron.

logoboom said on Jun. 29 '11

Well I can't see Ranier from here but I am looking out my office window at Mt. Evans (a 14er along the front range just to the west of Denver). Blue sky, puffy white clouds, snow capped peak and NO HUMIDITY!!!!

nathantrafford said on Jun. 29 '11

logoboom, where do you work? you can email me if you want at nathantrafford at gmail . I only ask because I will be moving out to denver soon and am trying to figure out what good parts of town are. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THEArtistT said on Jun. 29 '11

I don't think you should mess with it. I know we love our darkening blue skies, but that is a sign of air pollution. The skies are supposed to be medium to light blue.

ubishere said on Jun. 29 '11

Very nice identity, although I think a white background would work better.
