I like italic serif with a sans serif. I'd just add that the mark might need a little more air under it. At least as much space as the tagline has above it.
kellyoneill, I agree. The customer chose that font though:( On the first draft, I had Bank Gothic with nice tracking on it to spread almost all the way but no luck.**and good eye, gthobbs.

This has a very nice feel to it, though I'm not convinced that the small text font looks good with the san-serif above it. Great mark!
