Blak is an artist and designer based in Glasgow, Scotland. Having traversed the globe refining his art skills and developing his communication abilities, he now produces design work for select clients as well as limited edition artwork and clothing. When not working, you will find blak drawing, skateboarding and spending time with his wife playing scrabble, visiting art galleries, going on mini adventures and looking after their pet hamster.
Having graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1999, blak put his design education to use alongside the influence that graffiti, street art, skateboard graphics and pop culture from the 80's and 90's had on him.
Blak has been producing high impact visuals, graphic design and artwork for some of the most prominent bars and nightclubs in and around the Glasgow area for the past fifteen years. Using his in depth knowledge of the licensed trade, combined with a passion for branding and unique marketing strategies he has developed and helped maintain public awareness of not only the venues themselves, but specific club night brands, one off events and promotions.
Recent years has seen blak work intensively with the international clubbing phenomenon that is Headphone Disco. Blak has been with the Headphone Disco team from the start and has helped establish them as the premier silent disco brand in the market. The Headphone Disco crew and their Super Show Deejays perform across the globe, transforming clubs and festival tents with their strong brand presence which has seen blak's artwork appear on everything from oversized banners, giant light-boxes and tee shirts to badges, 3D glasses and VJ loops!
Les Enfants Digital (LED) is an artist and designers collective which blak co-founded with Stee from Lab8Zero in early 2009. Their art/design work is a collaboration of their two unique styles and can be found on club flyers/posters, skate decks, tee shirts, badges and limited edition prints.
