Description: The Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund Logo was designed using the colors of West Virginia while muting them for a refined look. The state flower, a rhododendron, was used as an inspiration for the mark, with a star nestled in the center. On May 24, 2003, Norma Mae Huggins, mother of WVU Coach Bob Huggins, passed away after a long battle with colon cancer. In her memory, the coach established the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment at the WVU Cancer Institute. The Huggins Endowment Fund supports clinical cancer research, targeting many types of diseases that are common among residents of the Mountain State, which has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the nation.
