the swastika is a religious good luck symbol used in both hindu and buddhist religions/cultures. like the pentagram, also a symbol of luck and trust, the west consider such symbols representative of evil. it is really sad. both symbols need to be taken back. I hope this is an example of that, but I won't get my hopes up.
to bad you can't use this logo in public*just because one guy used it in the wrong way...*if this logo is going to be used in an asian culture you probably won't get any trouble
the artistt you are very diplomatic and i have made some good points. I know this symbol well, infact it goes back even further than Hindu and Buddhists, This symbol represents the sun, found in caves in africa, the Egyptians tattooed this symbol on their toes... but the FACT of matter remains this logo in my opinion (and I am not Jewish) is in bad taste and offensive, what this logo symbolises not only to Jewish people but world is one of mass murder, torture and the most inhuman treatment of a people. I am very interested to hear Simon Grabber the designer of this logo. The symbol / icon has a history that can't be ignored within weastern culture.
Brandon, looking at the stark way this is presented and the color used, I absolutely agree. The swastika has softer, more organic interpretations that would help take it away from that dark chapter of its history.
This comes immediately to mind: http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/59314*Uses the sunflower, yellow and rounded corners. I also believe it is running the opposite way, which helps, too (although there is no 'correct' direction I can find historically).
the cross predates christianity as well (egyptian ankh for just one example) but you won't be getting past the attached stigma (pun intended) anytime soon.
