Just to stick to the trend in the p-e connection, you could try making the %22o%22 have the same line thickness as the arm of the %22r%22 or try making the arm of the %22r%22 taper into the same thickness as the %22o%22 line thickness.**Regarding the %22v%22, I am not sure wha to do about it as I encountered a readability problem. Even though I figured out that it was a %22v%22 after looking at it for a couple of seconds, you may want to mess with it to try and eliminate the confusion.**I just want to say that I really like the logo and the direction you are going in but you may want to try some of the things I said above.
I do not know who Wim is, but, after making the comparison, I like Asen's here better. I read it as Petrov first thing. I think the gap between the t and r should be the same as the gaps between the combined letters, but, other than that, I love this. Great job!

I like this one.
Replyawesome!
ReplyI thought it said petrol.
ReplySo did I. Petrol or Petro/ the 'e' looks particularly odd with the stressed curves from the bowl of the 'p'
ReplyPetrol 1.... **great logo, maybe just some adaptation to make people see petrov on the first sight
Replynice cuts
ReplyLove your work.. how do I go about contacting to maybe do some identity work for me?

ReplyReally nice! The p-e and r-o connections are awesome - clearly readable. However, I did read petrol too.
ReplyI thought its a concept for some %22petrol saving%22 campaign.

ReplyCongratulations. You found THE solution!
ReplyLike the idea! Very well done!
ReplyLooks really cool. I first read %22petrol%22, but that might be because I am from norway.
Replycool design.
ReplyI don't know how but I read it immediately as Petrov wow amazing.
ReplyOK, I responded to this but I think my comment has been deleted. What I was trying to say is that I think you should have mentioned Wim Crouwel's work (from 1963): *http://www.typolover.com/images/WIM_CROUWEL_ANATOME_15.jpg**http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2299/3709058932_0d075365f6_z.jpg?zz%3D1**http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3515/3709067016_35fafeafdf_z.jpg?zz%3D1**Try doing what he did: construction your own letters. I know his work looks like helvetica but the thick-thin contrast is too big to do this. It also isn't Akzidenz Grotesk, he probably did it himself, which works out way better.
ReplyStrange concepts but they work - awesome work otherwise :)
