Description: What the client gave me: “Logo needed for mexican food truck located in Honolulu, HI at Barbers Point Naval Air Station. Main focal point will be a rendering based on the coat of arms featured on the flag of Mexico. The meaning behind the coat of arms is derived from an Aztec legend that their gods told them to build a city where they spot an eagle attacking a serpent. Ultimately, they found the eagle and snake fighting on top of a prickly pear cactus at a lake-island in Lake Texcoco, which is now part of Mexico City. Stay with me... Other elements to include: a mariachi sombrero, palm trees or something tropical to suggest 'the islands of Hawaii' and a military symbol to represent it's location on base and that the truck will mostly be serving military personnel.” What I gave the client: Original illustrated vector design created in Adobe Illustrator. Sombrero filled with water, representing the lake-island with eagle and serpent standoff. Palm trees and sky backdrop framing the design and adding tropical flavor. Wood banner containing custom lettering. Tagline and stars taken from the Army logo.
