I think you choose the correct font, it is very %22circusy%22 However I don't feel the ball and the star go together. First you shouldn't use a gradients for a logo. I know they're cool and give your logo so much depth, but its just a rule not to. The star looks hand drawn, which is great, but the ball gives a more perfect feel. I feel it would be more successful if the ball was more %22kid drawn%22 does that make sense?

Where's the logo rule book that says you can't use gradients?

tabithakristen,*Thanks for your comments as this is student work (my student) and we want to expose our students to as much feedback from professionals such as yourself. As to answer your question, there is no quote, unquote %22rule book%22 however any experienced graphic designer/artist knows that you first start logo design with black and white (so that you don't get rapped up in the colors and not the design) second as far as a logo goes, it needs to be scaleable and has to be used over different types of medium, such as screen print and vinyl cut, nether of witch you can use gradients with, so this is where the %22RULE%22 that says don't use gradients comes from. If you would like me to send you the list that we have compiled I would more than gladly do this. Just let me know! Thanks AGAIN!

Of course I understand minimizing unnecessary effects for usability and application but, I'm a firm believer in not restricting students during the exploration and growth process. If all students learned logo design the same way, with the same set of rules, where would the innovators and trendsetters come from? Just a personal opinion. :)

tabithakristen,*I agree with you that restricting students will only hinder their growth process, However at the school that I am the Dean of the graphic art department over we run short modules (only one month long) and in that time I have to give the student everything that they need to know to be successful when designing a logo. I will take your feedback and advise and use it to only better the program that I run at the College. Again I appreciate all of your time that you have put into your comments and would appreciate more comments on any of my students work%3B as it will only be a benefit to them in the long run. Thank you and I look forward to seeing more of your comments on my students work!
