I love the combination of the elements... but the Aids ribbon is supposed to be red!

ah, yes, well initially of course it was red, but the orange was a better solution for the audience targeted and it can still be read as the ribbon. The campaign was to help bring Aids awareness with an inviting and comforting mark because there is very little knowledge about Aids in the Dominican Republic and how it is free and easy to get tested. The red was simply too scary.
