What I always try to do is imagine all of the type lumped into a solid mass and compare that to the the mark. I also take into consideration the negative areas of the type and your swan here is solid. It's all about ratio. if you where to reduce this logo for biz card size the type would nearly be gone.
Like logomotive said, the proportions of the bird make it look dumpy and top-heavy. I also don't see the point in the line on the face/beak which wouldn't be visible when printed small.
