Description:
Mara is the name given to the forces which is personified as the antagonist to enlightenment, forces that disturbs our mind. It is our greed, hatred, ignorance, jealousy and all the other poisons that brings unhappiness and grief.
It is said that while Siddhartha was on deep meditation he was attacked by MARA but he overcame all the obstacles and freed himself from all the negative forces to become Gautam Buddha, the enlightened one.
