This is really interesting, and very unique. But I'm dying to know your rationale for not applying the same connect-the-dots approach you used in the wings and tail (which is what makes this mark so very different from any other owl mark I've ever seen) to the body of the owl. To me, it seems like two different thoughts here.
I had the exact same question. As is... the wings feel like an artificial construct on the organic body. Not saying that's bad. I'm just curious on the decision process. The design is gorgeous.
adding a couple of nodules to the points of the ears and other areas of the face and body should it all together. unless it is a cyborg owl with original body and mechanical wings...
The way I look at it, and to the response of all the comments above..
It says its for a "tattoo master Zarina Sova". Zarina Sova being a female tattoo artist.
A tattoo artist uses a tattoo gun aka a mechanical tattoo machine to produce their work.
So to me a "Sova" (meaning owl in russian) with mechanical/artificial looking wings makes perfect sense. Tools of the trade in a form of wings.
Maybe 2stolz can pop on and clear things up further.
