This one is hands down my favorite. His back right leg could use minor tweaking though, IMO. Looks great otherwise!

^ I agree with JP :)

Agreed. This is your strongest.

Just Great!

mfrank said on Dec. 09 '09

Agreed. This is my preference too. Good one!

ethereal said on Dec. 09 '09

Thanks, guys! May tweak that leg a little however client chose V.3. I felt this was the strongest as well. Thanks again!

mfrank said on Dec. 09 '09

^either way...the client will be using a very cool logo. Good job Sean.

easily the best out of them. Great use of negative space.

Yes, I love what your doing with these.

ethereal said on Dec. 09 '09

Thanks a ton!

r8rsfan said on Dec. 09 '09

I might be a little persuaded to to like this because I grew up with Dobermans in my home. But this is a nice logo, agree with the other post on the leg tweak.

ethereal said on Dec. 09 '09

Thanks! I just tweaked the back leg a bit but can't seem to replace the image with a new one, did David do away with that option, can we not update this image with a new one?

ethereal said on Dec. 09 '09

There we go, got it, sorry, either I had a brain fart or it's been too long since I had done that! Anyhow, I think it looks much more natural now. The back leg is basically the identical to the front back leg and you just catch that corner of the roof to compete the house form. How the hell did I not see this before? Yikes. Thanks everyone!

epsilon said on Dec. 09 '09

Actually I think fore legs look unnatural now. They should be slanted forward slightly to match the pose implied by the hind legs.

ethereal said on Dec. 09 '09

Hey, epsilon. Actually, that is the stance of a Doberman Pincher, front legs straight and back legs angled: http://images.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=doberman%20pincher&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

epsilon said on Dec. 10 '09

I don't know, guys. The front part of the dog looks weird. Either it's the stance (on many photos at that link the fore legs are not straight) or the legs are too short, or the body is a bit too low .. something's off. Try covering the right part of the drawing, hopefully you will see what I mean.

epsilon said on Dec. 10 '09

Yeah, good point regarding the roof. That would take care of proportions. But the straight legs are different, what is missing in the logo is a leash. That's what keeps those legs vertical in the photo. Note how it cuts into the dog's neck, there's a lot of strain involved.

ethereal said on Dec. 10 '09

He he he, you guys. Splitting hairs! :) I tweaked it a bit more, raised the roof just a bit more to give the front leg a bit more height. I'm pretty good with this. :) Thanks for the help!

Thanks a lot!!

Hot stuff! I think I would personally make the dog the same color as the letters, but that's just me. Thumbs up!

This is one of my favorite logos I have seen on this site.

Why is the dog facing to the left rather than the right and what font are you using in this logo?

outlander said on Feb. 16 '11

Good thought

Bernd said on Apr. 12 '11
