I don't know what the brief entailed or whether the client requested a fish symbol but the fish is a stronger representation of Christianity rather than Catholicism.
I think this logo is great and I'd like to make a couple points. First, passion and sex are perfectly compatible with Catholicism. The Church doesn't denounce sex as a bad thing, just that it is best experienced in a certain context (like all things). Secondly, the fish is a perfectly appropriate symbol for Catholicism. Catholicism IS Christianity. They aren't two separate things. The Catholic Church was the first Christian Church, so there's not conflict there either. Great work!

Catholic faith? As far as I am concerned, red lips are commonly associated with passion and sex.
