I'd love this without the really thin needle-like "pricks" extending every which way.. right now it looks a little too much like barbed wire meets cactus.

I agree that the flourishes are a little much, but then again it's a logo for a band, and band logos seem to follow different rules. Readability isn't generally one of them. What type of music does this band play?
