First concept for the redesign of this companies logo. they wanted something simple and new. a departure from the bland logo they previously had.

The repeat of the icon is overkill and the smaller icon nested in the "M" is just an odd placement. I'm also a little confused about the mark itself. At first I thought it was a sun-dial, but now I'm not sure. Finally, the word "TOURS" feels a bit like an afterthought and sits uncomfortably close to "MID-AMERICA". Perhaps if you make it a slightly heavier weight and give it more leading (ie, breathing room) it'll look better. I think the basis of the logo is ok, but it needs more work. Good luck.
