This was done in 1991, for Chang Le First High School (China), for celebration of its centennial.
"100" was used to show the pride. Trees can also be seen as upward arrows to show the positive impact. Tree is a popular symbol for education in China, as the saying goes like: It takes 10 years to grow trees, and 100 years to grow (educate) people.
