No back legs. This is just a stylized look. It actually loses a lot with the back legs added. With out them it gives it that nice arc from left to right.
You don't need the legs, but you've added an extraneous arc. You buffalo already curves into a flaming point nicely with it's body (see the point where his back and the inner line of his torso are converging to?). I'd get rid of that extra "hump" curve, because that is what's throwing off the balance and dimensions of the animal.
It's awesome that you were able to do a high school's team logo- usually schools just have a generic stock logo like a bear or a trojan or something else that you see everywhere.
Is this Carlisle high school in PA by chance?
