great logo

mebs said on Jan. 30 '07

GREAT mark. I think the type could use a liiiittle more mark.

mebs said on Jan. 30 '07

Oops, I meant the type could use a little more 'work'. Maybe I should start using the Preview button, ha.

unstructure said on Jan. 30 '07

Gotta agree with mebs ... the mark is great the typography is meh.

raja said on Jan. 30 '07

thats cool

Rigent said on Jan. 30 '07

I *really* like that mark but again I agree the type is weak comparatively.

daleharris said on Jan. 30 '07

i love the mark, however i reckon the name lets the mark down.. and no i don't mean the typography. ;)

bruno veloso said on Jan. 31 '07

The symbol is great. But I always wonder how to use this kind of idea against a dark background. White box? Did you go through that?

ohtwentyone said on Feb. 05 '07

There is a seperate dark-color version of the mark...but really, it's intended that ou use it on light colored backgrounds. What's even better is that there's an alpha-channel version where you can thrown anything you want behind it and it'll show through the "open door."

kaimere said on Feb. 08 '07

very very very cool ... the mark is strong in this one ...

OcularInk said on Feb. 08 '07

Love that mark.

senterbrands said on Feb. 08 '07

I like the logo but reminds me a lot of the logos on logolounge when the keyword door is entered. Regardless nice job.

bpotstra said on Feb. 08 '07

Beautiful mark, typography is brutal. Use all lowercase when displaying a URL, and 100% black makes it seem so hostile. Pull the grey from the door's shadow and use it for the font. And I would use a milder font than the one you've chosen

ghelton said on Feb. 09 '07

are you the one who submitted this to digg? If your not I think this guy likes your logo. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/8341/oomuio3.png

spigumus said on Feb. 09 '07

ghelton made a nice catch there. I agree with everyone's comments in regards to the name and typography. If you're not that guy who submitted openOffice on Digg, I'd look into this ASAP.

dpc said on Feb. 10 '07

The mark is great, but yeah, the type needs some help.

SpiffyJ said on Feb. 11 '07

The perspective on the top part of the gray shadow looks off. Shouldn't it have the same VP as the horizontal green lines?

michael_art said on Feb. 15 '07

OK, this will sound judgemental. I love the mark. But there is a thing with the logic of the shadow: - if the mark is intendded to be a card (gretingcard, booklet, something like that) the solution is fantastic! - if it's intended to be a door the problem is: it is still closed.

nido said on Feb. 15 '07

i agree with michael_art, the mark is beautifull but if its an open door then there'd be no shadow on the green, but if its a card...

alicho said on Feb. 18 '07

Excellent abstraction, such a great creative. My respect.

liquisoft said on Feb. 25 '07

Nice use of implied dimension. The type seems a bit light, however. It doesn't have much impact to it.

csordi said on Feb. 26 '07

I don't inderstand the door exatly. What is behind that? It seems like a green wall, because of the shadow. Nobody can enter. The mark looks good but the meaning is little bit strange.

Quincunx said on Mar. 01 '07

The shadow should go through like it's in the white. I would look into that OpenOffice on Digg. It's not even the logo of OpenOffice...

ClimaxDesigns said on Mar. 01 '07

you know after staring at this i think the guys talking about the shadow are right. looks like the green is a wall. the shadow should lay into that area giving the appearance that you can walk in.

ohtwentyone said on Mar. 06 '07

I really appreciate all the comments guys (and gals, I assume). I agree on the shadow thing. However, it was eventually agreed upon that the simple shape works out better than a more correct one. Does anyone know how I can find whomever is using my logo for that openOffice thing? My company isn't even off the ground yet and these punks are ripping our logo off! Please e-mail me if you know how to find them. Use the contact page on my site. Thanks!

GREAT job, with a very impressive use of dimensions. On of my favorites works here.

more than great ;)

icu said on Oct. 11 '07

ah.... it is a door! It took me 5 min to see that. And I was like what the hell is that. Now that I see it, well done! Great work

ChrisG said on Nov. 18 '07

The mark is your best piece of work to date. The more I look at it, the less the simple type bothers me. Keeping it simple doesn't compete with the mark. The type is fine. The mark is great. Best to leave the type alone. bravo

camila_garay said on Aug. 24 '08

stunning!

Lefty said on Apr. 06 '09

i agree with the fact that the typo need work, need more personality (is that an english word?) but the idea is really great.

sainisunil said on Apr. 28 '09

Great idea, nice execution.

Fluena said on Jun. 18 '09

Like the way you can 'see' even what's not shown in the artwork.

very very gooood , thnx

roddi.lignini said on Jan. 25 '10

I think it is really a good idea but... if the door is open there is something wrong with the shadow, I mean, the green shape is the door's hole, right? so the shadow's projection should be on the floor, not like on the wall

firebrand said on Jan. 25 '10

Not if the doorway is meant to be solid.
