I can see the russian modernist thing but its very dated looking and the type is also looking very forced into the space. if the whole thing was 1/3 wider it could work

It does look very dated, but, I actually like the fact that it does. It makes the logo seem older than it is. As if it has a history to it. As Jay also pointed out however, the type needs to be reworked.
