John Thomson Construction :: v1
by categorynine
The original concept for John's logo was to incorporate all the necessary information in order to create a stamp, then apply that stamp to wooden strips cut to business card size. After careful consideration, John decided that this logo was too western in its approach and wanted try going more towards an original Craftsman style design.

Nice type treatments - actually like this concept, and how you were going to present it, much more than the finalized Craftsman design.

I was a bit bummed myself. I could understand his point of view after he walked me through his thought process, though his initial comments before I started were skewed more towards this style of execution. I was also excited to be able to utilize woodcut type faces and customize them a bit. I felt they fit the look he was after.

Oh well, thanks for the kind comment though Jeff ...

This logo is fantastic! The feel of this screams fine, timeless, craftsmanship. Excellent job, its too bad he didn't go with it.
