I like this. I think the top part of the mark (the head) is off centered though.

Good job. It maybe need a little touch of more complexity or something more appealing on the robot. But it looks good.

Random comment: You should name the robot 'tod' :-P

yet another design company, doing desktop publishing. a company logo is a reflection of the personality of the company, just like other type of logos. Robots are: rigid machines, have no sense of touch, feel, smell, hearing, or vision,... they don't feel anything because they are preprogrammed, is this the type of company you are? this logo as a result is very impersonal. and doesn't offer any benefits or creativity. don't get me wrong, i'm trying to help you. the colors are ok but... the typeface is ruined here, it's too tight. let it breath, a type face designer spends at least a year designing fonts, give it some respect.

@ bazizi Robots also get the job done in half the time, while still being effective and precise. Maybe that's something he doesn't want to convey either. Don't get me wrong, you make a good point, but I disagree with you when you say, 'this logo as a result is very impersonal. and doesn't offer any benefits or creativity'. I think this is creative and memorable. Two key elements in logo design. Also, I think the general public thinks of robots in a positive way. They assist and help.

@bazizi, kinda tough love there huh? i totally disagree with you, I think Ocular is right. The only thing i dont like about it is the color, and as far as the type face, if font designers where perfect or rather could see every possible way a font they created would be used, then we would not have such tools as kerning at out disposal.

Nice point about the kerning tool, and other such tools. I didn't think about that.

i guess i come from a different perspective. i've been practicing graphic design professionally for the past 10 years and my specialty is brand engineering. first impression is very important for me, it either works or doesn't and i'm not shy to say my thinking, after all i've got people for me and they need direction, having said that, i still wasn't being harsh or anything like that. you guys all missed the silver lining, design is about communication, discourse! also about kerning, here my tip. kerning has to be done optically. you have to print the word mark, in black and white (large enough to take the whole page) and look at in the mirror and from all sort of angles and distances... this is just one of many steps you have to take ... see design is not simple, it's science!

or you could just set your type in Indesign and press the 'optical' option instead of 'metrics' :-) As for the logo, I think you should have another look at this. It seems a little half baked (I'm not having a go - just constructive crit). The type doesn't have any relationship with the sillouete. Maybe if the typeface was more angular / blocky. Pixel typeface maybe?
