i like this too, but i like the other concept because having the pencil up and having the "L" descend below the baseline makes it more memorable for me.

In this version, legibility is not sacrificed and the overall concept does not feel forced. My vote's for v2.

yeah. that's better. You could probably add the dot back over the i as long as it topped off at the top of the l, it would be good. glad I could help, if I did.

Wow, insanely brilliant! At first I thought... that's pretty plain, then I say the triangle at the bottom. Nice job.

Looks great! I feel like the proportions could be altered a little bit to portray the pencil a little better, but I could be wrong.
Either way, quality work. Well done :)

Great Stuff. You could try angling the tops of the "i" and "l" off at 45 degrees, so its like an even slice at the top.

Hmmm... have to go against the grain again here. This level of simplicity works for corporations but a pencil is a creative device in itself and perhaps the logo should reflect this more. Just a thought.

I love the simplicity, and while I did see the pencil after a few seconds it didn't JUMP at me immediately. Maybe move the lead up just a bit? Looks great.

nice use of negative space! :) A question though; is the letter i shorter (lower x-height) than the others? There seems to be some sort of optical illusion...
