i think by keeping the russuan-style A lettering actually promotes this rather than moving away from it.

The radio waves are also still very 'eagle wings-esq' and are this visually linked to the Russian war horse.

I LOVE this logo, but if the client's aim was to move away from a Russian Constructivist style then I dont think you've moved them very far.
