I like your explanation. It fits. I see that you need a corporate looking feel to it too, since that runs alongside with the banking industry. Have you thought of different colors perhaps to solidify your "Olympic torch" sayings. So far it looks interestingly good.

cesab68, Thanks for the feedback. This logo is about 5-6 years old now, however, so I cannot change the colors. If I recall correctly, I did show the client numerous color schemes and this was the one they wanted, though. I think it has worked out for them. Thanks again.

I agree, I'd use different colors, but the client wants what the client wants. The colors are what make this logo taste a little stale; however, I love the flames that form the other leg of the V. As soon as I saw this I thought it looked like a logo for something having to do with finances, so perhaps a little unexciting is a good thing. The only things I'd change here are things the client would probably disagree with (i.e. making the flames more flamey, punching up the colors, using a more exciting font for the type). Overall, though, this is one solid logo.

volfro, Great comments. I agree with your thoughts about the font. That is the area where I am weakest in respect to logo design.

I'd recommend you read The Elements of Typographic Style, by Robert Bringhurst. It's an awesome typographic reference for any designer, experienced or green. Packed to the brim with knowledge. http://snipurl.com/166nf ^^ that's a good deal on amazon Keep designing though! That's the only way to really grow.
