nice start. did you try changing the viewing angle? I always think it's better to not be looking down upon the marks. What about something more symmetrical? I also think the proportions of the mark compared to the type is a little off.
I think this logo has a great oppertunity to use the "two words put together but one of them is bold" technique. Its been used before i know, but here it is appropreate and could look really good. right now the space between words just looks too big.
little bit more symmetry could help as those angles look a little steep or harsh.
