Stand for Northeast Iowa Telephone. They wanted a more modern looking logo. On a second glance, it resembles two people joined at the hands to signify communication.

pretty 'neit' mark a new and refreshing one. Not keen on the placements and size comparisons(maybe its also the size of logo in comaprison to frame) though but it's pretty cool.
