Description: The owner of Bently Enterprises (and a few of the other logos in my showcase recently), Christopher Bently, wanted a logo that showcased his love for San Francisco. I illustrated key buildings and sprinkled them throughout the main silhouette (so placement is not perfect, more for style), and offset a ghosted backdrop of buildings both for San Francisco\'s rolling hills and for it\'s fog. The picturesque version at this scale doesn\'t do it justice, though the site will reflect and my writeup on dotfive will soon, it is a digitally painted skyline with city lights and stars, etc... simply translated into a easy 3/2 color or 1 color with halftone depending on the print requirements.

That's certainly an interesting way of creating a logo. I think to most, this would look more like an illustration with a logo inside it, but I see no reason why the whole thing itself can't be a logo. Great work. I love the gradiented version.
