What does the break in the I represent?

It's the vertical separator found on the top right of the keyboard; usually used to separate navigation links on websites

Okay, well that particular key does not have a break in it. It is, for all intents and purposes, exactly the same in appearance as the "I" would be in the font you chose.

I still don't see a reason for the break.

Additionally, utilizing that symbol as an actual icon is rather pointless, since it doesn't actually represent anything. I think the font you chose is strong enough to stand on its own without that broken I.
