The name Houston-we always makes me go hmm, every time I see it. Houston, of course is a surname, and a major city name in the US, but it is that addition of -we to the end that makes me smile. In the Sioux language adding a -we to the end of a word makes it feminine. For example Tatonka is Sioux (Lakota) for bison. Tatonka-we is a female bison. My mother's nickname in her 20s was Iktomi-we. Iktomi is spider so they used to call her spider woman (she was/is scary).
