I can only say that the design community is pretty tight knit and defensive - and this - if a bit extreme - should serve as yet another warning to the would be thieves out there. I commend David on 'calling him out' as that is what usually works best (from my experience) but the situation did get a bit excessive. David can't really control what his comment makers do but he did moderate some of what they said.
