While I like what you\'ve done with your typography, I don\'t think I would have used the acronym BP as part of the company name. This is already so well branded as an oil company. Think about it. What if someone called their company Nike Design? Just a thought. -Kevin

I like but she makes me remember a www.kp.com.mx nice work

I really like this. I dont see any problem using BP as a company name. This is not an oil company, and the brandig absolutale differs from the bp one. I just dont understand why are you using the white \"web2.0\" gradient in the mark? It would be much stronger without it.

decent, but lose the gradient. I love what apple did with they\'re logo when the iMac first came out, but I hate that everyone copies it.

bpotstra said on Oct. 09 '06

ok, 2.0-ish reflective gradient is gone. It was more of an experiement to see what it looked like with a bit of reflectiveness.

I\'d put the reflection back, it worked, dont change your work simply because one or two people\'s personal preference doesnt match up with your work. now it looks like a 100 other red square logos, even some on this site, http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/2953 so please only take these comments, including this one, with a grain of salt and only if it makes sense to you(which it seems as per your last comment). if you tried to please every different whim you\'d be changing it till the end of time.

Quote: \'I don\'t see any problem using BP as a company name. This is not an oil company, and the brandig absolutale differs from the bp one\'. Oil company or not, he is still branding his initials, \'BP\'. I still think these initials have already been too established as a well known brand (even if the brand is significantly different). I would have been a little more creative when creating a company name for a \'creative\' business. And if you like the gradient/reflection effect, then I say keep it. It\'s your one time to create a logo exactly the way YOU want it. -Kevin

i like this...AND bp. it immediatley makes me think of a painting the way the BP look. well done.

At the smaller size dont you think it could be confused with the letters UP? Granted, a badly drawn U, but still.

bpotstra said on Oct. 10 '06

thanks for your comments - you can still see it with the reflectiveness on my site: www.bpdesign.ca also, dache, so far nobody has seen \'up\' instead of \'bp\' - so lets hope you\'re the only one! ;-)

After our much lengthy discussion in the forum about reflections, I am going to go against what I would normally say...I like the *cough* *cough* reflection version *cough* *cough*...lol. Ok all kidding aside, it is good either way.

Great logo - it looks very porfessional and impressive with the gradients on your site. So, I\'d suggest you use the one with gradient on screen and without gradient in print.

bpotstra said on Oct. 10 '06

yeah. thanks laertis, thats my thinking too - the reflective one for screen and the non-reflective version for print. thanks for all the comments!

simple, yet nice. Although I don\'t really like the reflection... it\'s to trendy, and \"web 2.0ish\"

Kevin! How are ya?? I've been crazy busy with web (yuck) work, but it pays the bills. I wish I had more logo projects on the go, but 'tis the season of web design for me.
