I didn't really like the "R" of Miedinger. But, I found a typeface that I feel plays of the modernist and industrial sides that the client wanted to portray. The font is a slightly modified "TypeFaceSix". Sadly it looks like FF has taken it down.

Hey Lawrence, I love the concept and the type is excellent. It is just a bit difficult to make out what happens with the wings intersect with the 'M' - mainly I think because the angles in the 'M' are quite different between the top and bottom parts. Maybe I am not quite getting it. Overall I really like it.
