Hey, I like where you're going here. I like this one moreso than the secondary one. I've been following your progress, and one thing I am seeing is sort of a random combination of words to create a mark. While this has it's benefits in terms of practice, it lacks in the practicality department.

Even with practice and 'for fun' pieces, I think it's best to go into a project with the goal of creating something usable. This piece could be usable, but I think putting a little more thought into creating a brand rather than just a mark will help you out. For example, thermoguitar is a name I can't imagine applying to any brand, but maybe something catchier and clever (and less literal) would help the mark to make sense.

Just tossing some ideas out there, SounDegree, Guitar Fever, MusicHeat, etc.

Remember, type is a big part of a logo as well. Try not to make it an afterthought. If you do it correctly, even your practice pieces will be valuable in the future.
