It's nice, except for the lower swirl, it's kind of messy...

willem - The lower swirl is a coffee cup with steam I think. And also the pot of the overall Christmas tree shape? The only problem I have is the red star - that, combined with the green says 'Heineken' beer to me...

Yes thats it! Heineken! Couldn't pinpoint what it reminded me of at first. Good analysis drewboy.

definitely reminds me of Heineken as well. That was my first thought, though I like the logo and illustration.

yeah if you changed the red star to gold would fix this right up and would give the christmas tree more prominent, i just now saw the coffee cup and thanks to drew i now see the christmas tree, I think a gold star would make this perfect.

I like this one!
for the cup to show up just a little better, what if the swirl that comes down on the right side from the top line of the cup (I hope this makes sense!) extended further to the left, so that it almost touches the left side and makes the front edge of the rim? (If the steam needs to come from the center, it could come from the swirl on the left side above the cup.)

I didn't make the Heineken connection. However, I showed it around and a couple of folks said the same thing. They both were mid twenties guys (would that be the Heineken demographic?). I was actually thinking there might be more association with Macy's.

Maybe you guys have been too influenced by this:
